Brighton, UK alternative rock powerhouse Veritas Lit return with their highly anticipated third full-length album, Echoes of Unsaid, a release that sees the band pushing their established sound into new and more adventurous territory.
Following the journey of their previous album, Where the Black Orchids Listen, Echoes of Unsaid represents a clear step forward for Veritas Lit. The band retains the distinctive musical identity that has become central to their sound, while introducing greater maturity, experimentation and a willingness to take creative risks.
The result is an album that feels both familiar and fresh. Veritas Lit continue to develop their alternative rock foundations without losing the raw energy, emotion and atmosphere that define the band. Across Echoes of Unsaid, the group explores different dynamics and textures, allowing the songs to move between powerful rock arrangements, darker atmospheric passages and more stripped-back moments.
The album’s single, “Holy on My Lips,” helped establish the direction of the record, setting the tone for what would become a broader and more ambitious collection of songs. It offers an early glimpse into the band’s evolving approach, balancing the intensity of their rock sound with a more mature sense of songwriting and production.
With 16 tracks in total, Echoes of Unsaid also gives listeners the opportunity to hear alternative interpretations of the band’s material, including acoustic versions that reveal another side of the songwriting. These additional arrangements add depth to the album and demonstrate how the songs can take on different characters when stripped back from their full-band settings.
At the moment, three tracks from the album are attracting particularly strong attention on YouTube. “Heaven Doesn’t Want Us,” “Into the Dark” and “Close to Nothing (Alternative Version)” are currently the three most-listened-to Veritas Lit tracks on YouTube, giving an indication of which songs are connecting most strongly with listeners right now.
Songwriting remains a key part of the Veritas Lit identity, with Kyler responsible for writing all of the album’s lyrics. Kyler also contributes significantly to the guitar work, helping shape the album’s distinctive sonic character. Among the guitars used during the recording process were a 1979 Les Paul Custom, played through a Marshall amplifier and Zilla cabinet, alongside a 1966 Fender Telecaster.
Those guitar choices help underline the combination of classic rock character and modern alternative energy running through Echoes of Unsaid. Rather than simply repeating the formula established on previous releases, Veritas Lit have used the album as an opportunity to explore where their sound can go next.
That sense of progression is perhaps what makes Echoes of Unsaid such an important release for the band. Veritas Lit have described it as the best album they have made, and the record reflects the confidence of a band that has grown into its sound while remaining prepared to challenge itself creatively.
Away from the album itself, Veritas Lit are also continuing to build an impressive online following, with the band having accumulated around 480,000 likes on TikTok, helping introduce their music to a growing audience beyond the traditional alternative rock scene.
Available across major digital platforms including Spotify and Apple Music, Echoes of Unsaid marks the latest chapter in the Veritas Lit story. It is an album that looks forward without abandoning the musical foundations that brought the Brighton band to this point, combining powerful alternative rock with experimentation, atmosphere and a more mature songwriting approach.
For Veritas Lit, Echoes of Unsaid is not simply another album. It is a statement of progression from a band continuing to discover just how far its sound can evolve, with the current response to “Heaven Doesn’t Want Us,” “Into the Dark” and “Close to Nothing (Alternative Version)” suggesting that listeners are already finding their own favourites within the album’s expansive 16-track journey.
