PEMA Invites You on a Metaphysical Folk Journey with New Album ‘Name In The Sky’

South African musician Adele Fouche, known as the frontwoman of popular Afrikaans group Saarkie, is set to release her highly anticipated solo debut album under the name PEMA. Titled “Name In The Sky,” this album takes listeners on a profound metaphysical folk journey, exploring themes of spirituality and deep inner connection. PEMA (Lotus Flower) can be seen as a flower out of the mud.

PEMA is not just a musical project but a vessel for emotions and stories, seamlessly blending lyrics and melodies to capture the essence of human existence. “Name In The Sky,” set to release on August 2, 2024, features lead singles “You See Me” and “Wolves,” both of which have garnered significant attention, including placements on Apple Music South Africa’s New Music Daily Playlists. “You See Me” also earned a spot on the popular “Country Musiek” playlist.

Adele Fouche showcases her versatility in this country folk-inspired English album, delivering a message that transcends our everyday realm. Her debut single “You See Me” has found success on local South African radio stations, with interviews on Cape Talk and inclusions on RSG and other prominent FM stations. Inspired by the thought-provoking Netflix series “The OA,” “You See Me” delves into the world of dreams and challenges listeners to explore the possibilities within the subconscious mind.

“Wolves,” the album’s second radio single, is more than just a song—it’s a journey into the human heart. With its evocative lyrics, PEMA invites listeners to transcend the chaos of the mind and corporate structures, urging them to discover the secret forest within their hearts and connect with their wild, free spirit.

Adèle describes the album as an inner journey: “When we move beyond the busy monkey mind, we might be surprised to find a vast never-ending adventure. It’s like there is a universe within us all, waiting to be explored. We can activate this consciousness in meditation to find what lies deep within our subconscious mind. A connection beyond our everyday understanding of reality, where we can collaborate with cosmic consciousness, extra-terrestrial intelligence, spiritual teachers, and people we still need to meet in flesh.”

“Name In The Sky” also features the song “Just Breathe,” which reflects on the uniqueness of every individual: “There is a universe in the eyes – every single person has a unique pair of eyes that carries the marks of who they really are over time. When we look at ourselves from space, the earth’s mountain ranges look like the veins in our body. Neurons in our brains look like the universe, a black hole looks like the human eye. There is more than meets the eye.”

Other notable tracks include “Look Inside,” which questions our realities and the reflection of our minds and souls in the world, and “Soles of Your Shoes,” about choosing the best path for a more fruitful and positive life.

PEMA’s “Name In The Sky” is a testament to Adele Fouche’s incredible songwriting skills and her uplifting, harmonious vocals. This album promises to transport listeners on a spiritual journey, offering profound insights and transformative experiences.
